Gretchen has been practicing Feldenkrais® and ABM NeuroMovement since 2004 and has experience working with persons of all ages, especially seniors and children. This work is potentially beneficial for anyone, whether to improve one’s day to day activity or to overcome injuries, the effects of surgery, new, chronic or congenital conditions such as strokes, Parkinson’s, MS, cerebral palsy and developmental disabilities.
Gretchen is also a Reiki Master. Reiki is a form of energy healing with roots in Buddist and eastern healing philosophies. Reiki is of benefit for dealing with pain, anxiety, stress and for healing from injury or surgery. The practitioner uses a series of hand positions, either on or directly above the client’s body to promote a flow of positive, healing energy known in eastern healing arts as chi, qi or prana.
Feldenkrais Movement® and ABM NeuroMovement® are methods of neuromuscular re-education that can help in all these areas. Both methods are based on the work of Moshe Feldenkrais, a physicist and leader in the field of mind-body awareness. During one to one sessions the practitioner uses gentle guided movement to tap into your brain’s ability to create new learning. We call this neuroplasticity. This in turn can help you heal from stress, injury, surgery, illness or inefficient body use.
Do you want to improve the way you move through your life? Do you have concerns about your balance, coordination and limitation in movement? Are you dealing with pain? Or maybe you want to improve participation in sport and recreational activities.
